TOLUCA, IL - The Chuck Rolinski Basketball Coaching Lifetime Achievement Award was voted into existence by the IBCA Board of Directors at the Fall 2008 Board Meeting after being proposed and worked on by Bruce Firchau (Westminster Christian) and Bob Williams (Schaumburg).
The award will be presented to an individual who has made continued and sustained contributions to basketball coaching in Illinois.
This award was inspired by the dedication and hard work that Chuck has invested in making high school basketball great.
Chuck has consistently attempted to improve high school basketball in Illinois by working for many major changes, most notably the implementation of the two class system. He is the co-founder and driving force in the development of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and through his persistence and determination, he has motivated a myriad of coaches to be more effective in their own coaching. He has been an inspiration to all who have coached or played basketball in Illinois.
This award is intended to recognize long-term achievements and contributions towards promoting exceptional basketball in Illinois. Criteria for this award include being an enduring member of the coaching profession, lending significant support to the profession through activities in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association as well as other professional organizations, successful coaching experience over an extended length of time, and other coaching activities that distinguish this individual as one of the elite members of the basketball coaching fraternity in the state of Illinois.
