NEWS

The IBCA announces that three initiatives have been created to recognize coaches, schools, and organizations who have achieved long term success and served to grow the game of basketball in Illinois.

1. Coaching Milestones.
All member High School and College Coaches will receive recognition for reaching the 200, 300, and beyond career victory totals. Jr. High Coaches will receive recognition beginning with their career victory. Any member who has achieved these levels during the 2016-2017 season should contact Recording Secretary Steve Allen to be added to the list. Please, see our Coaching Milestones listing on the IBCA website.

2. School Victories.
Many schools have reached the 1000, 1500, and this next season, the Quincy HS Boys program will surpass the 2000 win plateau. Centralia HS has already reached this momentous milestone. The Chicago Marshall and Teutopolis Girls programs have 1000 total victories. We want to honor all schools who have reached these win totals. Please, contact us if your school will be reaching these numbers. We would like to present the school with a memento from the IBCA at a home game.

3. Organization of the Year.
We realize that many tournaments, booster clubs, and other organizations spend many tireless hours supporting our basketball programs. We may have selected individuals from these programs into our Hall of Fame. Beginning with the 2017-18 season, we will honor groups as a whole for their enduring work. These programs will be selected each year and honored at their school site.
