Beryl Kauth took 26 years to become a Lexington High School alumnus. In 1955 at the age of 43 she completed her senior year. Beryl was ticket taker for Lexington ballgames for more than 30 years. As such, she once demanded and received payment from then Illinois State coach , Bob Donewald who attended a Lexington-Flanagan game to recruit Flanagan player, Bill Braksick. A faithful and devoted fan, Beryl clad in her purple and white, sat in the front row at the Assembly Hall to cheer on her Minutemen in the 1974 State Tournament. Beryl was truly a super-friend of basketball.
